Destination: Russia

When I was little, my grandmother exposed me to many musicians: Mozart, Beethoven, Mussorgsky, Bizet, Tchaikovsky. And it was this last composer and his music that impressed to me, a level to emotion when I listen his creations. In that sense, was Tchaikovsky the entrance to this Russian world. His biography, not exent of mention about his politics and history make me wish to travel there.
Because traveling is, for the moment, impossible, my contact with their culture is only through the music. Rimsky Korsakov, Ígor Stravinsky or Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich are my references. For example, Sherezade, of Korsakov it's an invitation to fly to Arabic World seen with the eyes of a russian person. Or Shostakovich's symphonies are a continuum historic of the second World War. His seventh symphony was composed in Leningrado, when the Nazis tryed to capture it. Shostakovich had stay inside the city and play his symphony like a form to maintance a high moral on the army. Because that, i would visit Leningrado, Stalingtrado and Moscow. Years ago I studied Russian. But it's a difficult language. For example, just say "good morning" it's "strastubuitie", and it's not written whit latin characteres, but with Cyrilic characteres, witch are a mixture between latin and greek characteres.
At least, if I don't travel in my entire life, i have the music. Closing my eyes is enough for now, and it maybe be enough for always. I'm a very imaginative person... And I'm poor.
